We now have more than 120 people on our Quality teams, spread among three countries (France, the United Kingdom, and Morocco) to ensure four main functions :
Product Quality Control
From planting in the nursery to client delivery
Client Satisfaction, in compliance with specifications and regulations
Every week, several meetings take place between the Quality, Production, and Packaging teams to analyze, optimize, and guarantee the quality of our products to our clients.
Among our European clients, we recorded a 99.3% quality satisfaction rate in 2019.
Food Safety And Quality Controls
100% of the analyses carried out on our products comply with European regulations. They are carried out by an independent and COFRAC accredited external laboratory.
Proof of Our Expertise
Our expertise is also attested by our Quality & Social certifications and the approvals of our clients.
Engaged in a quality certification process since 2004, we comply with all the standards of our clients, whether French or European and have even chosen to undergo annual unannounced audits by accreditation bodies.
Azura has been a SEDEX member since 2003. The ethical trade audit for SEDEX members has been renewed annually at Azura since 2010. The SMETA audit is based on the Ethical Trade Initiative, local legislation and International Labor Organization standards and focuses on four pillars: labor standards, health and safety, environment, and business ethics.
The company is also a member of BSCI (the Business Social Compliance Initiative), an initiative of the Foreign Trade Association (FTA), which aims to develop and implement a system of excellence for improved working conditions in the global supply chain.
The group is also GLOBALG.AP certified, which guarantees the implementation of good agricultural practices, the preservation of resources, and the protection of the environment and of the health and safety of workers. The objective is thus to meet consumer expectations regarding the food safety of agricultural products.
Our trained internal audit teams perform more than ninety audits each year on our various sites.
Our quality control includes several steps :
- Daily checks are conducted during the harvest; this takes place as early as possible to avoid heat. The harvested crates, sorted by batch, are then quickly transported to the packing station for packaging.
1 lot = 1 farm / 1 tomato variety / 1 harvest date
- Controls are also made during packaging, based on the client's specifications. The verification of the products (then called "approval") is done on each batch according to several criteria, such as the quality of the sorting by size or the color of the tomatoes, etc.
Traceability for each pallet is then maintained all the way to the final client.
