Our Environmental Pledge

It is based on scientific studies that have allowed us to focus our action on three major points :

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Thanks to the reduction of our plastic consumption and the optimization of our supply chain. Here are a few examples of the progress we have achieved:

  • Reducing the consumption of plastic packaging used: in one year - 43.6 t of plastic on the production of three major references of the company.
  • Re-engineering cardboard formats and thicknesses: for the same number of trucks, we now transport up to 50% more tomatoes, while using 20% less cardboard.
  • Achieving 100% recyclable tomato packaging

Ensuring Responsible Water Consumption in our Greenhouses

We are participating in a government seawater desalination project and are working to optimize drip irrigation on our crops. Our R&D team is also working on new technologies to better store and facilitate water absorption by our tomato plants.

Recycling Waste

We work with a circular economy objective to recycle green waste into compost, enrich the soil, and improve production; the management of non-organic waste is carried out by a specialized and certified external company, which manages its destruction in full transparency and compliance with environmental standards.

Studies of the life cycle of an Azura tomato (and therefore of its environmental impact) confirm that while integrating transport to our logistics platforms in Europe, heating the greenhouses using the natural heat of the sun enables us to significantly reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Analyse du cycle de vie

  Did you know?

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an internationally standardized ISO quality approach, which makes it an efficient and recognized tool.

An LCA is based on several criteria for the analysis of incoming and outgoing flows. We call "flows" everything that enters into the manufacture of the product and everything that leaves in terms of pollution.

Example of incoming flows: materials and energy (iron, water, oil, gas resources, etc.).

Example of outgoing flows: waste, gas emissions, liquid waste, etc.

Beyond the perimeter of our production sites, the Group also acts on a daily basis to reduce its impact on the environment: daily recycling of paper in the offices, elimination of plastic cups (in one year, nearly 43,200 plastic cups were saved at the Perpignan site alone).
