Anxious to control the quality of its production, the group Azura created an internal nursery in Agadir to develop and master the production of grafted plants. We work according to the GSPP prevention system (a strict international sanitary prevention system set up by professionals in the production of seedlings and tomato plants), which is the subject of independent control audits.
100% of Azura's production now comes from grafted plants ; grafting makes the plant naturally more resistant to pests and diseases, and thus limits the use of plant protection products. Our production is planned according to the needs of our customers; it can vary from year to year.
In 2019 / 2020, the areas planted with tomatoes will be 986 hectares. Each year the forecast tonnages of tomatoes or aromatic herbs are adapted to the needs of our customers.
100% of Azura tomato vegetable plants are produced internally to ensure complete control of crop quality. Azura also grows fresh herbs and edible flowers for sale to professional networks.
Committed to the protection of the environment, Azura has been working for more than 20 years in partnership with Biobest, a company specializing in integrated biological protection cultures. Azura uses bumblebees and insects to help pollinate tomato plants and better protect them from pests.
The Azura group has recently diversified its activity by creating a center called AZURA AQUACULTURE, dedicated to the production of high quality clams (from the European species "Ruditapes Decussatus"). Since 4 years, the company has set up a hatchery 2 hectares on the Atlantic coast.
Azura chose to integrate the sector and developed its expertise, producing clams itself.
